There are 2 types of penalty charge notice:
1. Moving traffic issued by post includes box junction, bus lane etc
2. On Street issued on the vehicle windscreen for parking.

If you are not sure which PCN was issued, either check the order for recovery, call the Traffic Enforcement Centre on +44 0300 123 1059 or +44 01604 619 450 and or ask the bailiff to confirm.

Moving traffic penalty charge notices are usually issued because of camera evidence, sent by post and the vehicle is usually moving

Parking penalty charge notices are usually issued because the vehicle is parked somewhere and a CEO usually issues a PCN right away
