Contravention Description

Description: 1 - Parked in a restricted street during prescribed hours

Summary: The contravention occurs when a vehicle waits during the prescribed hours in a restricted street (i.e. on a yellow line).

Checklist: Make sure the yellow lines are clearly marked and there should be a time plate showing when parking is restricted.

Description: 12 - Parked in a residents' or shared use parking place or zone without a valid virtual permit or clearly displaying a valid physical permit or voucher or pay and display ticket issued for that place where required or without payment of the parking charge

Summary: The contravention occurs when a vehicle waits in a residents’ or shared use bay during controlled hours and either fails to display a permit, pay and display ticket or voucher or fails to pay the appropriate charge for that parking place.

Checklist: Be prepared to explain if you had a permit or paid for parking or if you had any problems with getting a permit.

Did you have permission to park from the occupier of the premises where the vehicle was parked?
Was the vehicle parked outside a shared driveway?
Has the carriageway been lowered to give access to vehicles, pedestrians or cyclists?
Does the PCN show that two observations were made?
Did you display a valid disc as required?
Did you park because blue badge holders were allowed to park?
