Sean Stanton-Dunne found that the signs faced traffic coming from the opposite direction. The driver could not have seen the relevant arrows from this approach. The appeal was allowed on 10 December 2025 because the alleged contravention did not occur.

The adjudicator also observed that the driver appeared to stop after noticing the Ahead Only marking on the road. That observation did not alter his finding about the blue signs. The decision concerns the relationship between this approach and the sign faces, not an assertion that a driver can disregard a clearly visible mandatory arrow.
