Before you pay

Do not ignore a Rundles parking letter

A Rundles parking letter can move from first appeal to debt recovery, pre-court action, a county court claim, or judgment if the deadline is missed. The right response depends on the document you have now.

How it works

How Parking Mate UK helps with Rundles

Simple steps from enforcement notice to stop-enforcement documents.

01

Get the PCN and warrant details

Start by getting the PCN details and a copy of the warrant from Rundles or from the Traffic Enforcement Centre. If the contravention was parking, the route usually uses TE7 and TE9. If it was moving traffic, the route usually uses PE2 and PE3. If the enforcement officer has already attended or clamped a vehicle, enter into a payment arrangement quickly to buy time and reduce the risk of immediate recovery.

02

Get your stop-enforcement documents

Parking Mate UK checks the enforcement chain, the warrant details, the original PCN route, and prepares the correct TEC forms plus a tailored witness statement. PE2 and PE3 also need to be witnessed before a solicitor.

03

Submit and stop escalation

Once the details are in place, submit the documents straight away to stop enforcement. Form mistakes can make the application invalid, so the goal is to use the completed PMUK forms to avoid errors, restart the PCN process, and get back to appeal or the lower payment rate, such as £65 on a £130 PCN or £80 on a £160 PCN where applicable.

Why responding works

Key things to know about Rundles parking enforcement

A bailiff or enforcement letter means the case has moved much further than a normal parking appeal. The key is to identify the PCN, confirm the warrant details, and use the correct stop-enforcement route quickly.

1

Defects carry through

Signage failures, late notices, and procedural errors on the original ticket do not disappear just because a debt collector or solicitor is now involved.

2

Right forms for the right contravention

Parking contraventions usually need TE7 and TE9. Moving traffic contraventions usually need PE2 and PE3, with PE2 and PE3 witnessed before a solicitor.

3

Professional letters ready to send

Get the completed forms for your stage plus a tailored witness statement, ready to submit once you have the warrant and PCN details.

Driver feedback

Real feedback from drivers

Feedback from drivers who used Parking Mate UK to challenge private parking tickets, debt recovery letters, and court claims.

Successful appeal against a PCN from a car park with poorly worded signs. Premier Park rejected my first appeal, so I went to the ombudsman where it was accepted. Definitely worth the effort.

Premier Park Appeal

Totally worth it to save over a hundred pounds being robbed by Horizon. Answer a couple of questions and you get a letter that you send off. My parking charge was cancelled.

Horizon Parking

Got caught at an infamous scam hotspot. I know I could have appealed myself but could not afford the time to trawl through forums. Parking Mate handled everything and the charge was cancelled.

FAQs

Rundles FAQs

Quick answers before you start.

Driver checking a parking ticket appeal update
Is a letter from Rundles a court order?

A letter from Rundles is not a court order in itself, but Rundles is a certificated enforcement agency (bailiff company) acting on an existing enforcement warrant. The practical next step is to get the PCN details and a copy of the warrant from the enforcement officer or the Traffic Enforcement Centre so the right stop-enforcement application can be prepared.

Can Rundles send bailiffs to my home?

Rundles are enforcement agents (bailiffs). They may visit your home, but they CANNOT force entry for a parking debt under the Taking Control of Goods Regulations 2013. They can only enter through a door that is already open on a subsequent visit, and only for certain debt types. For parking debt, they cannot force entry at all. You do not have to open your door.

How should I respond to a letter from Rundles?

If you have received a notice of enforcement from Rundles, start by getting the PCN details and the warrant details from the enforcement officer or the Traffic Enforcement Centre. If you did not receive the original notice, you may be able to file the application that reopens the case. If enforcement has already started, a payment arrangement can buy time while the documents are prepared. Do not ignore the notice.

What does Parking Mate UK check on a Rundles letter?

Parking Mate UK analyses the original parking charge that led to Rundles's involvement. It checks signage adequacy, POFA 14-day notice to keeper compliance, charge amounts against code of practice caps, procedural requirements at every stage, and whether Rundles's correspondence contains errors or misleading claims. The defects from the original ticket carry through to this stage.

Can I ignore a letter from Rundles?

Ignoring a notice from Rundles is risky. Once enforcement is active, fees increase and the enforcement officer may attend or move to recover a vehicle. Even if you are contesting the PCN, you should still get the warrant details quickly and act on the stop-enforcement route rather than waiting.

How long does Rundles have to pursue me for a parking charge?

Council parking penalties enforced by Rundles do not have the same six-year limitation as private parking charges because they are pursued through the statutory enforcement process. However, if the original PCN or subsequent notices were not properly served, the entire enforcement chain may be challengeable. Check the dates on every notice you received.
