The recording showed the vehicle passing no-motor-vehicles signs after leaving Gallions Roundabout. The driver then stopped and reversed. The restriction operated overnight on specified days, while the adjudicator recorded that the roundel signs showed no operating times.

Newham relied on photographs showing signs on both sides of the road. Anju Kaler considered the approach as a whole: there were two possible left routes, the advance signs warned of enforcement rather than the actual prohibition, and a driver travelling on the main road had little opportunity to avoid it safely. The appeal was allowed on 30 December 2025.

For another signage appeal, photograph the approach and the last available decision point, not just the sign after entry. This decision does not make an advance warning sign mandatory at every restriction. It illustrates why two signs alone do not settle whether the actual arrangement adequately informed the driver.
