How We Defend Your Case Before Court

The purpose of the response is to show ParkingEye why the proposed claim should not be issued and to address matters that were missed or dismissed during the appeal process.

Depending on the case, our response may challenge the original parking allegation, keeper or driver liability, signage, ANPR evidence, payment records, authority to operate, the amount claimed, added charges and compliance with the Pre-Action Protocol for Debt Claims.

Where information or evidence is missing, we request it so that ParkingEye must properly explain the proposed claim before deciding whether to begin proceedings.

What Happens After We Submit Your Response

We provide you with confirmation and a copy of the submitted response, then start tracking the case.

If ParkingEye or its solicitor replies with questions, documents or further evidence, Parking Mate UK assesses the response and prepares the follow-up correspondence required. You do not need to work through the documents or decide how to answer them yourself.

We continue engaging with the parking company to discourage unnecessary court proceedings and try to resolve the dispute during the pre-action stage.

Resolving the ParkingEye Claim

The quickest resolution is for ParkingEye to withdraw the proposed claim after considering the response and supporting evidence. In appropriate cases, we may also seek to resolve the matter by agreeing a substantially lower settlement instead of allowing the dispute to progress to court.

Any settlement remains your decision. We explain the response received and the available next step before anything is agreed.

Letter Before Claim Response Deadline

The Reply Form normally must be returned within 30 days of the date at the top of the Letter Before Claim. Responding within that period records your position, allows documents to be requested and gives the parties an opportunity to resolve the dispute before proceedings begin.

Parking Mate UK checks the date shown on your letter and submits the response through the return method specified by ParkingEye or its solicitor.

£20 Court Claim Upgrade

If the dispute is not resolved and ParkingEye later issues an N1 County Court Claim Form, you can upgrade to our complete Court Claim Defence Service for £20.
